A 31‑year‑old man has been issued a formal banning order that prevents him from entering Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester until 2029. The order follows allegations that he threatened to ignite the hospital and subjected staff to serious abuse.
According to the hospital, the man entered the premises and directed threatening remarks toward employees, including statements about setting the building on fire. Hospital security intervened, contacted the local police, and the incident was recorded.
After reviewing the reports, the hospital authority imposed the exclusion order. Such bans are used when a person’s behaviour poses a risk to the safety of patients, staff, or visitors, or when it significantly disrupts the provision of healthcare services.
